 The JHCC have made two additions to the Local Rules, clarifying the procedure to be followed.
 
Additions to Local Rules 
 1) if a ball enters the water at the back of Hole 2 
 2) if a ball enters the water or stops on the adjacent ground by the newly excavated lake between  Holes 13/14

Magnolia Park Hotel, Golf & Country Club – Local Rules

1. Out of Bounds - Beyond any fence, hedge or wall bounding the course. Beyond the fence on the left side of the 4th, 5th & 16th holes. On or beyond the pathway at the rear of the 18th green and all car parks. In or beyond the stream at the rear of the 2nd hole. Note that the central part of the stream at the rear of the 2nd hole, as defined by red stakes, is a lateral water hazard & Rule 26 applies. 

2. Stones in Bunkers - Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies

3. Water Hazards - Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes. Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes. Rule 26 applies.

o The ornamental lake between the 1st and 18th is a lateral water hazard.

o The lake between the 13th and 14th holes is now be deemed to be a lateral water hazard (where defined by red stakes).

4. All paths and decorative / non-bounding fences are immovable obstructions. Rule 24-2 applies. 

5. Staked trees and newly planted trees are immovable obstructions and relief must be taken in accordance with Rule 24-2. Trees with no stake but plastic wrap around for protection – relief must be taken. The small conifer trees denoting 150 yard markers are immovable obstructions and relief must be taken in accordance with Rule 24-2.

6. Fixed sprinkler heads and irrigation boxes are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, relief can be taken if such obstruction lies within 2 club lengths of the immovable obstruction.

7. All drainage ditches and channels are immovable obstructions. Rule 24-2 applies.

8. If a ball strikes power lines on the 3rd or 5th hole, the stroke must be retaken without penalty under Rule 20-5.

9. Provisional balls - So as to speed up play, when playing over the lakes in front of the 2nd, and 15th and 18th holes, a provisional ball may be played in accordance with Rule 27-1, if there is any doubt that the original ball might not be found.

10. Plugged ball - Through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground may be lifted, without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. “Through the green” is defined as follows:

o "Through the green" is the whole area of the course except:

o The teeing ground and putting green of the hole being played; and

o All hazards on the course.

11. Main Day and Alternative Day Competitions - When players have a choice between Main Day or Alternative Day participation for a single stroke play competition, in terms of Rule 7-1b of the Rules of Golf, any player who elects to play on the second day of the competition is permitted to play on the competition course on the first day of the said competition.
